Mi band 2

Just picked up 3 at Gearbest for $21.99 each.

Anyone here that have Discovery, and does it count?
You have to sync it with Google fit and then there's an app called "health sync" which can be used to export data to s health which will sync with discovery.

After using this thing for a while - I've come to the conclusion its not very accurate.
1.) It records an almost resting heart rate when I'm highly active (running/etc)
2.) Last night it came off at approxiamately 2am - I put it on the side table - it still managed to record my sleeping heart rate till 6am when I put it back on
3.) It can take my heart rate in thin air when not on my wrist :p

That's funny... :p

Does the job - I'd put accuracy overall at about 75%. (Sleep tracking/step counting/HR reading etc)

You guys still happy with it? I've been a bit put off by some of the cons, but am considering getting one.

I love it for what it is.

Small bluetooth unit that vibrates when my phone rings & when getting messages. Tells time and last a month and a half on a charge. Oh and the fact that my watch lock/unlock my phone & Windows desktop the moment they out of range.

Step counting and sleep pattern stuff was cool gimmick for the 1st month, now I even turned that off.

If you want something for bells and whistles move past, its a simple waterproof watch that have some added features. ie: exactly what I want.

Anybody who is interested in the Xiaomi MI Band 2 can order from the link below:

https://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_362705.html?lkid=11509616

There is coupons on the item quite often and the price can drop quite a bit (Below $20). Also, GearBest's shipping is not to bad if you combine items and they ship with Priority Line (Aramex) and gets here in a few weeks. If anybody is interested, PM me anytime and I will check for any active coupons for the item. They coupons do fly and get used quickly so it changes quite a bit.

The above link is for the Chinese version and not the international version but from the research I have done, it makes no difference. Only the box and manual is affected. The app still works well.

Until one of your priority lines use Courier IT and you get scammed out of more than the product price with no help from GearBest

Also quite happy with my Band 2 - I find the sleep stuff quite useful and accurate actually, noticing better sleep when changing diet / evening events - lots to learn and adapt from.

Can see who's the sender of a whatsapp message, get telegram notifications, etc. Ton of customization with the proper apps.

They should not use Courier IT for a locally company. If you did have issues, PM me and I will push them to arrange something for the inconvenience caused. I have been pushing them to handle these things better to try ensure that this does not happen and it should not happen in my mind.

Do note that with Aramex, anything under R500 comes in customs free with express shipping. If over R500, their service fee is normally R50. For DHL, I now learnt that this is not the case and they bill you for everything unless the customs charge is under R100 (Tax and vat). If over R100, they bill you R150 clearance as well which is actually high for small items. Since I combine all my orders with a lot of items, the costs are split over them.

Don't get me wrong, it is not always a perfect solution but it is a decent service for the price. I am here to help and push for issues faced. For example, a guy ordered a phone and they sent it with Singapore post instead of Aramex and didn't even contact the client. No communication at all. So I spoke to them and we are arranging a full refund so the client can order again and they will ensure it is sent correctly this time.

The client will probably get both phones at some point but they messed up and I will push them to resolve. So anybody having any issues, contact me and we will see what we can do.

This was their invoice on the order you declared as $44.

To add to it - this disgusting company (Courier IT) - wouldn't release anything if I chose to use my own agent unless I paid them R285. They basically use these disgusting tactics to hold parcels ransom.

Trying to get it resolved with gearbest was near impossible - with the middleman, DPEX, saying gearbest was well aware I was going to be hit with this scam.

That was the last time I used you - also couldn't get unsubscribed from your newsletters after multiple request.

That is the most crap I have ever seen. I have cleared 80kg worth of goods for cheaper then that and they billed me R300 to release and customs came to R120. I cannot believe a company could do that.

Regarding DPEX, DPEX is a different forwarding company to the one GearBest usually uses. They then select the service to SA. I have used DPEX enough times as they are actually really cheap ($3 a KG from China to SA) if you do bulk. The mistake by GearBest though is that the service was not correctly defined and that is not correct.

I do apologize for this and will take it up with the guy on GearBest's side tomorrow to try ensure this does not happen again. Not good that it did as it affected the client's experience and that is not good for business. I have ordered over 30 packages and have not had one issue with Aramex or DHL. A lot of the stuff recently has been coming with DHL and to pay R300+ for every package is rough which is why I prefer Aramex.

Regarding CourierIT, I think they should not be able to get away with things like this as it is daylight robbery since the item does not belong to them. But it is a hard situation to deal with.

Please do accept my sincere apology for this from GearBest side and I will try my best to ensure it does not happen again. And for anybody who is having issues with items or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me and I will do my utmost to assist.

Haha - well at least an honest response :D

hellopeter is full of stories like that about them - I also left the same review for them on google reviews, now I can only hope word of mouth costs them more than they cost me for five light bulbs :p
