I'm using Microsoft 365 with a license that is expiring next month.
Another friend has shared (legally) one of his spare licenses with me, so can I just install the new download over the old install, or must I delete the current 365 install then install the new one?

Thanks, in anticipation.

No need to reinstall anything. You need to apply the shared license to the existing account

Thought so, how do I do that?
I got the link from my friend, & my Microsoft account shows that 365 is shared & managed by my friend, so that seems ok.
However, when I run Excel, it tells me that my (previous) subscription has been cancelled, & most features will be disabled.

Then it shows 3 options:
Buy
Enter Key

Any ideas?

Use the Sign In option.

I had a bit of trouble getting it to re-activate a new licence. Rebooting might have helped.

...enter key. Signing in with your details might not allow you to use O365. He'd have to give you some form of sign-in details (username/logon) for it to work.

Thanks, all.
All I did was to just click the Sign In box.
It automatically picked up my credintials & all is good. No key entry necessary at all.

I was a bit nervous at first, hence my question here, but all is good.

I have to say that the apps available on the business edition of office 365 are pretty amazing. Microsoft teams ftw.

Indeed, I did, and it just works perfectly.. No key needed, just a re-sign in. No download, nothing else.

Yup.. I remember when teams was still lynx & business Skype and teams was coming.. we were considering slack at the time and then teams launched and I was like.. let’s use this.. best decision ever.

One thing I hate though is they occasionally make apps like the leave approval stuff and then abandon so never know. But yah I guess they experimenting.. I dislike that they like integrating with dynamics as a alternative for many things.. hopefully that’s changed(haven’t been playing on Office365 for 2yrs)
