Microsoft banning Gears 2 (& CoD5) Pirates

exactly - this wont happen though.
Im still adamant that if the developers bring down the cost of games to something which is way more affordable, their sales will sky rocket and make up the money they lose to piracy due to high prices...
But a development company like Microsoft will never bring down prices.. what are we thinking.. soo piracy prevails.. its a vicious circle, started by the developers...

Why do u people always Blame Microsoft !!!! ?????????????????

in 1999 when Sega made Shenmue the game did cost $ 70+ Million (yes Dollars) to make (no one blamed sega :rolleyes:)

Sony made the Getaway on the ps2 the game did cost $ 100 0000 (yes million) no one blamed sony !

Name one high budget game above $ 50 mill that ms have made (dont say halo or gears they were far below that) the only thing that is $50 mil that ms have paid for is the GTA4 DLC and developing that wasnt $ 50 mill it was far less.

If the cost of games comes down, the quality will come down as the equipment needed to develop modern games are expensive, going to locations to shoot footage are expensive, paying voice actors are expensive !

So please stop complaining unless u want to revert back to 2d sprites and beeping noises !

whos cares what it costs to make a game? its not our problem - yes the more money put into it, the more itll cost in the end. But this should not be rolled over to the end user, why not make another plan to subsidise some of the costs... Honestly i wouldnt mind in game adverstising if that will help.
But im sorry, how can you justify and xbox game at 700 bucks and a pc game at 300? I have no problem buying pc games, i do, i play online and require originals... but i will never buy an xbox game again... waste of time and money imo..

And btw, im not targeting microsoft so u can get off your hissy chair....

Console games cost more to make up for the large development cost of the consoles (it has always been that way and it will always be) gaming Consoles are sold @ a hugh loss so how else are they ms and sony going to recapitalise on their investment ? :rolleyes: ! Use ur common sense then u'll understand !

if i follow your logic here, then shouldn't Wii games be on par with PC games? since every Wii sold turns a profit, how come their games are almost the same price as the xbox games?

i'm sure microsoft gets some kind of royalty per game being sold, but the profit would be mostly for EA or other publishers, right? i'm sure EA won't be subsidizing the xbox since they are huge on all platforms

Th wii is in High demand thats why ! ask urself why did the wii cost R2700 @ launch but now the price is over R3000 on the contrary the xbox which cost more to manufacture has been dropping in price and not increased like the wii ! The same analogy apply to the wii games

I think that's where the shafting is happening. Exchange rate hasn't got much to do with it.

The Wii is suppose to be the cheapest "next-gen" console ... but clearly not in SA

Well not really, globally the 360 arcade is now the cheapest console on the market, by quite a margin. The Wii is suppossed to be the same price as the 360 Pro.

All in all, you can say what you like, but you have to give MS SA credit for pricing the 360 really aggressively.

I'm really looking for a Mercedes SLR, but those bastards won't sell me one for a good price. So I'm working on this plan to get one late at night when those snotty salesmen aren't there. Can anyone help hacking the transponder and other anti-theft devices those greedy pigs have installed on the thing?
