Microsoft Forefront help

Ok, so I need to install forefront for clients, and for exchange 2010 64 bit version.

I hate the way microsoft calls things and have no clue on what they mean. so...

1. how do you manage the client installations etc?
Ie, Is there a central management server software for the workstations? If so, what is it called and will it work on 64 bit?

2. For exchange 2010, Can I install the FF as a standalone? Must it be centrally managed?

Standalone FF client is Microsoft Security Essentials.

I had a look at a Forefront installation, and the extra hardware/software requirements put me totally off - whereas Symantec Endpoint Protection got the same functionality (with a lot of extras) but you don't need to purchase extra software for proper operation.

Never did a test install with it, so can't help you with client management etc there.

SEP got client management also - which is a LOT better than previous versions.

Firstly - Microsoft Forefront Client Security and Forfront for Exchange is two difirent products.

FCS (Forefront Client Security) Is meant for client computers and is centraly managed. It by far outperforms any other antivirus on the market today and is very easy to implement and manage as it uses WSUS for updates and deployment. The management server curently only supports 32bit but the client version is both 32/64bit

Forefront for exchange is a standalone product for exchange.

I have Deployed Forefront for many large corporations in SA with thousands of users..
