Anybody using it?

How is it? Does it have a good detection rate against viruses and spyware?

Thanks!

I haven't used it, but before Microsoft bought it, the technology came from a company called AntiGen. Basically the product uses multiple scanning engines from different AV vendors, and from what I understand has a good reputation in the IT World.

Also, Forefront has different versions, a standard anti virus solution, one for Exchange etc..

If I had the time, I would have set up a demo system to play with.

Forefront is not a product; but rather a range of security products. Don't think of it as an AV, it does more than just AV/spyware, but also ID managment etc....

i thought forefront was replaced by MSE.
it's probably been around for about 5 years or so.
i used it for a while - was able to get hold of some old testing copy for free.
it worked pretty well.
it had a simple interface much like MSE with very few config options - perfect for dumb techies to install.
maybe i was using the home user version and there was an enterprise edition or something.

to answer your question, i never got any nasties, but then again, i haven't had a system exploit in years.
as with any security issue, PEBKAC
