Microsoft, Nokia hit back at Apple's AppStore

Nokia has music store, Ngage store, and now Ovi store. They are gonna make a killing !

You mean Nokia has a "We copied Apple" music store and now they're rushing to get a "We copied Apple" application store out.

But this is of course a bit late as they first had to build a "We copied Apple" touch screen phone.

;)

Apple made the first touch screen? ok then.

Don't you think in life alot of things are copied? It's pretty poor to go on about who copied who, all we care about if price and quality of the goods, we don;t sit back and think WTF came up with the idea and do you know why? because we don't give a crap :p

I wonder who came up with the idea to sell food in a store first? who made the first car and should i buy all these other brands that copied the idea.

Was taking a dig at Roux who always blasts every company that's NOT his beloved Nokia. ;)

When Apple launched a touch screen device, touch screens were a dof idea. But when Nokia launches one, it's the best thing since sliced bread (actually scratch that, it's the best thing since the previous Nokia product).

But you probably have not been following the relevant posts.

Personally I agree with you. Very few concepts we see today are actually new.

Are those music stores also DRM free or are they like the Microsoft one which sells music which such heavy DRM that it's impossible to copy music from old
cell phone to contract upgraded model?

You had to buy and apple device and steal an american credit card.

No you can play that music on any device which plays AAC or you can convert the song to MP3. I have a Cowon device which plays AAC.

The region issue is a sore point, but I'm sure you can't buy music from the
UK or US Nokia stores and the SA Nokia store has a different selection (more limited).

I understand what you are saying and I completely agree, Nokia is clearly the best for music.

I am not only for but also against your conclusion. That's why I own a Sharp mobile phone and rip my own CDs for music listening.

Yeah, your right, Nokia Music Store is gonna have some serious competition from Sharp [-]Music Store[/-]

You missed my point. I am so in awe of Nokia mobile goodness I use a Sharp mobile with a Yamaha DSP chip for my on-the-go music pleasure. Not even the girl in the yellow dress in the Nokia N96 ad could sway me-- although it came close ;).

Actually the company which partnered with Sharp in Taiwan, FarEasTone does have a music store.
