Microsoft Outlook issues in SA & Europe

Microsoft 365 users in South Africa have reported experiencing problems with sending and receiving emails in Outlook.

The Microsoft 365 Status account on Twitter/X has confirmed that technicians are investigating an issue in Europe.

This is known too.

That is delayed by a few hours, if it is not fixed before.

With this happening more and more and on-premise exchange sunsetting with only a subscription edition there’s probably never been a better time to launch an onprem competitor.

I've been getting multiple Microsoft account login attempts since yesterday. Not sure if it is related though. It's very annoying. I changed my password, just in case, and made sure 2fa is switched on.

Have seen a steady increase the last few months - specific accounts targeted constantly.

Have resorted to changing username for affected staff which mitigates.

Anyone know if the issue is still ongoing? Work email is hardly functioning. Emails stay stuck in preparing to send/receive.

We also had a fibre outage over the weekend so not sure if it's Outlook or that causing the issues.
