Got it in the US from a friend, was around R13.5k all in with a StickerBoy carbon fibre look 3M back skin - looks the shiz :)

That includes the Type Cover.

Compared to other ultrabooks - it's excellent value.

So local pricing for similar is going to be around R15k if customs and agent commission is going to be standard.

The fancy models will be closer to 20k.

The minimum that I would buy is the i5 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

This is a real computer so it needs that if you are going to put it to serious use. Remember, it competes with the Macbook Air.

Dear Uncle RPM,

I'm sure Microsoft South Africa can donate a few Surface Pros to MyBB as prizes, for a survey to see who will upgrade to Windows 10.

Just my 2c. ;)

Just order one off eBay and make sure they use something like FedEx for delivery. Our even myUS.

What is Surface going to do when it drops the tiles in Windows 10?

The tiles will still be there.
Jip. The tile haters are not going to be happy, although the mix of tiles and new start menu does work well and should make most people happy. The switch between desktop and tablet modes works well.

The tiles aren't usually the problem, the Windows Apps are. Like Skype, it's terrible on desktop, it's even worse as an app on Windows. The Android version works a lot better.
