Or even simple robotics.
A 3d printer company Formlabs has a robot that manages the printer (removes parts etc). Seems straightforward enough to have a similar system on rails that never needs to see a human.


 
I reckon places like iceland with cold temps & geothermal power would make more sense from a practical & cost point of view.
