Hi, I will very soon looking to get a tablet. For now my only choice is the MS Surface RT 32GB. Just to clarify I am not interested in the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the iPad...for now.

I will be upgrading on my Vodacom contract in the near future and as I am happy with my current phone I will be taking the cash which will pay for about 2/3 of the tablet.

Any suggestions on where to get it, or advice on the tablet.
Also curious if Vodacom will be offering a deal with Surface any time soon.

Thanks

I now you don't want anything else for know. I don't now anyone who has an MS Surface. Are they available in SA know?

Paging McCrazieGoalz... somebody here needs your nowledge.

What exactly has you dead set against Android/Apple?

Hahaha know is everyone happy XD. Not really dead set against samsung/apple. But the usb port on the surface is a big plus

I wouldn't go for the RT tablet, wait for the PRO . This is another Microsoft Phone 7.5 waiting to happen. Windows RT is not Windows 8 and basically crippled as far as i'm concerned. I'm not even sure why MS even released it other than getting something out the door. Surface PRO is the only version that actually runs proper Windows.

The catch though, Surface PRO will most likely be cheapest R10k.

Doubt Voda or MTN will over this on Contract as it you can't insert your sim into the device. You can however use the USB speedsticks as those "apparently" have drivers on the RT system.

I have a Surface RT 32GB. And I love it. It works very well. Connecting and playing media from my existing PC's is a breeze. Office is handy... I am so glad I held out for it. And contrary to popular believe there are some decent apps for it. (A lot a crap too, but hey, don’t they all). The USB port and micro-SD slot is a big plus too.

There are still some minor tweaks they need to sort, but it will come.

Pro like you said costs almost twice as much, way out of my budget. And will only arrive in a couple of months. Also this tablet will be used for basic browsing and excel, word etc. Not looking for a laptop replacement.

Vodacom do not have the microsoft surface tablet, neither will they be getting them. I work for vodashop and i've spoken to the people who decide what phones and tablets are sold on contract here and the surface is not on that list along with the nexus range. You might be able to get them on contract through incredible but not through a vodashop or cellucity. sorry mate.
