When M$ came back to SA after sanctions they believed that market penetration of new products was going to be hard. They expected to spend much money on advertising and general propaganda.

The reverse was true.

Thanks to piracy most companies where using the latest products and staff where proficient in its use. They market was already captured for them. The only task that lay ahead was to convert these users to paid licences.

This is a story that is repeated in every market where massive piracy exists.
