Microsoft adding gaming mode to Edge

In an effort to gain further support from the gaming community, Microsoft is working on a new feature — Edge for Gamers — which it says provides an enhanced user experience both inside and outside of gaming sessions.

According to a Bleeping Computer report, the new mode enables a range of enhancements, including a gaming-oriented home page and new sidebar apps aimed at gamers.

Users who enable the Edge for Gamers mode will be able to choose from a range of customisation options that align with popular gaming aesthetics, including dark mode and gaming-specific themes.

However, it is still in the early stages of development.

Once live, users can go to Settings, Appearance, and then scroll down to enable “Edge for Gamers” under the Customise browser section.

According to Bleeping Computer, enabling Edge for Gamers doesn’t significantly change the browsing experience.
So basically just a browser skin then? Wow - much development ms.

only Edge feature I desperately need is an uninstall that stops the viral piece of shyte from coming back all the time
I want to switch to Edge at some point. Just so used to opening Chrome all the time. Edge just feels so smooth. And it's running Chromium so I don't see a reason not to switch.

I'm actually using it as my default browser across all my devices. The old version was crap, but the new version is pretty schweet. Running it on my PC, MacBook and phone.

This, except I don't have a MacBook.

you do you, I want the thing off my PC and without coming back!

I swear it is the most resilient spyware on the planet, I've deleted files and registry entries by hand in the past, set registry entries to prevent updates, and every other "solution" I've found, might work for a while to keep Edge away and then boom, next windows updates fahks it all up again and Edge is back

fml

PS: I could not care less how good or bad it is, I refuse to use software that is jammed down my throat

Sounds like you need Linux ;)

been there, done that

and it would work for me to be honest, but the only two PC games I still play regularly both require DirectX and even with the latest Steam Play they just didn't work at all on Linux
