hey all

just got some questions re-the mifi device

1- I assume SMS's don't work, any plans to make them work?
2- Are the default wireless network name and password the same on all devices, or unique per device? (i.e. can I leave it on defaults or should I change it)
3- I see it says "My number" is unknown on the Mifi admin page, is this to be expected?
4- I know with modern devices like the iPhone they actually recommend you keep them in the charger as much as possible and don't let the battery run low, is this the same for this device? Or will leaving it plugged in all the time kill the battery?

thanks

1. You'll need to buy an SMS bundle. You'll still get SMS'es though.
2. Unique passwords on all devices, but only the admin username + password is the same. You can change them without any issues. Change the SSID and passkey as well if you want to. (pity the router can only do one SSID...)

4. Not sure.

@Michaelbro - clientzone

@Librarian - thanks

@Afri* - any responses here?

Where exactly will the password to for the Wifi be?

Inside the back of the plastic cover of the device - so when you take the cover off to put in the battery there's a sticker on the back cover with the wifi password.

On the homepage of the 'router' (192.168.1.1 by default) you can also look under statistics and it'll show your session + total bW transfer.

As for your cell #, it displays on your clientzone as cellnumber@afrihost etc.

Halfway correct - refer to pic below!

Very professional and well done!

By the by, is everybody's SSID the same?

How's this for professionalism?

Opened the new clientzone, only to find that I'm also able to access my mifi router's details - which includes the SSID and Wifi passkey as well...

Seriously impressed!

I was struggling to install my MiFi, then i remembered my ADSL modem is on the same ip. So i switched that of and the MifI installed without a hassle, When it was done i just logged into it and changed it's ip.
Now for the question. How or what do i switch of to no let the MiFi connect via the usb (internet)
