Migrating from Afrihost Business Uncapped - Need Advice

There's no way Telkom is dishing out 25% discounts to line rental willy nilly. Do you have the discount? Considering how few people will manage this it's hardly an argument for Telkom.

I've got the discount as well. You just need to speak to retentions.

If you have both your line and your data with AH, you get R49 discount on the bundle.

And yes, it does behave the same on other ISPs - with my WebAfrica free test account, it also disconnects all the time.

They escalated it to Telkom last week:

We have escalated the matter to Telkom and they have confirmed that a technician is to be dispatched.
Your reference number is AH20141205-164947.
However they could not provide us with an ETA as to when the technician will be dispatched.

I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

But my line works perfectly, and Telkom can see my line stats.

Now I'm confused, a while back you were asking about wireless because telkom sux!? or am I confusing you with someone else?

EDIT: went back and checked and got you and ho3n3r mixed up.

Do they give the discount without being on a contract?

nope, if you accept the 25% your line is tied to Telkom for 12months.
If you want to cancel your DSL line then you pay a % of the outside months rental.

This. The cancellation fee is less than a month's rental anyway. So very worth it.

Have had it for 2 years now.You just have to ask.

Need to give this a bump again.

Afrihost is going to the dogs again, and tests are done but no feedback received, so deja vu.

Since I last asked, has an ADSL account emerged that offers the same as AH Business - unshaped, unthrottled 100% of the time, for a reasonable price? Yes, I need 100% performance during business hours as well.
