Hi all
So this is one of my all time favourite things. I've tried some other home made versions but they just don't seem to have the same taste.

Does anyone perhaps have a better idea of how they make it :o

Melting the bar one with cream and there are other ones with milo etc. There is also one with condensed milk apparently which I haven't tried yet. The thing is that the sauce they make doesn't ever really become hard on the ice cream even after it has had a while to cool down. :D I'm more curious if anyone knows how the hell they make theirs... Uuurgh..!

Oh FFS, I teach History and Computer Skills. I will only be a qualified teacher at the end of the year.

And I'm an Afrikaans guy. English first language teachers are normally ... English.
 
You can buy the original Bar One Sauce? Expensive thou. Comes in a big tub.
 
Try Makro? It's meant for restaurant and catering use. If you're in Durban I can give you a suppliers name.

I have never seen it at Makro although I guess I have never really went looking for it in that sense. I'm in JHB so don't worry about it. Thanks though :)

Never eaten Mike's Kitchen's bar one sauce before but I have seen how restaurants make it, and it isn't made with bar one chocolate bars. In the catering world, you can order large tubs of bar one "goo". A few scoops of that are usually mixed with cream on a pan and that's how restaurants make bar one sauce...
 
Does anyone know where in Cape Town I can buy a tub of this bar one goo? Or know what it's called?

They sell bar one goo at baking shops in Joburg, so you could try a good baking shop in CT to find it.
