Hi Experts

My client has a Vodacom Fibre router that doesn't really have proper VPN options. So I want to install a Mikrotik RB951Ui-2HnD https://scoop.co.za/mikrotik-2-4ghz-2-5dbi-5-port-ethernet-wifi-router-rb951ui-2hnd.html

My client is busy organizing the Fibre username and password. Have anybody setup Fibre PPPOE on a Mikrotik? Can I do the wizard (quick setup) or is it better to at PPPOE manually using Winbox?...

Waiting for your reply

I use Mikrotiks both at home and the office as the router, connected to a fibre line.
I specifically use PPPoE at home on my Mikrotik.
You can do it using Quick Setup but as always its better to do it manually and configure the entire router to be exactly what your client needs.

Hi Killerbyte

This is what I need to setup on Mikrotik - basic setup

1. Fibre PPPOE setup
2. VPN Server L2TP - 3x Computers with Sage needs to connect to Headoffice
3. Wireless Setup

Please share screenshots of PPPOE setup and network interface layout....Just need to get an idea how it looks...

Thanks

Take a look @ https://systemzone.net/mikrotik-configuration-with-pppoe-wan-connection/

I run a Mikrotik using PPPoE for my OS fibre.

L2TP server setup is going to be a little more complicated, PPTP is super easy - I personally use my QNAP as a VPN server so i won't be able to help you with that - perhaps take a look @ https://blog.ligos.net/2019-10-27/L2TP-VPN-on-Mikrotik.html

I actually like the last part you mentioned. L2TP is not that easy to setup.

As such @JRJakkals I sent you a PM. Hope that helps a bit.

It was a "How to" I used
