I have been reading for ages trying to get this to work and have almost given up.
My old network set up was just Internet>Adsl router >--wifi----- client.
Now I needed to limit connections on my network and I had a Mikrotik CPE lying around.
My Idea would be Internet>ADSL ROUTER>--WIFI--> Mikrotik >---LAN--- > Wifi hotspot-----WIFI---->Client.
Doing this I don’t think that DHCP works through routers so how I managed to get it to work is making the wifi hotspot forward the dhcp from the adsl router.
When I set up a simple queue on the mikrotik it does not work. But when I torch it sees the packets. There are no rules in my firewall.
Router 192.168.2.2
Hotspot 192.168.2.1
Mikrotik lan 192.168.2.3/24 network 192.168.2.0
Mikrotik wifi 192.168.2.4/24 network 192.168.2.0
Mikrotik bridge 192.168.2.5/24 network 192.168.2.0
Routerboard: SXT 2nDr2
Serial: 52BB04D87E37
Firmware: 3.24
Version: 6.32.3
Update, it seems the queue works with traffic going to and from winbox, buts thats all
