Hi all,

Where I work, we have a mikrotik hotspot setup - you connect to the wireless and it asks for a username and password, you enter it in and bam, you connected.

The problem is, if you leave the building, and come back, you have to re-enter the information in.

I'm the first to admit that I don't know mikrotik so well, but can anyone guide me on how to fix this.
I'd really like to find a way to stop this.

Maybe entering the details once every 24 hours is fine, but what alternatives are available?

This is driving me and others nuts.

You have to enable the MAC cookie feature, it remembers the details for 12 or 14 days by default.

How do I do that?

Soul, I'm on the discord eh. :)

MAC Cookie

login-by=mac-cookie, add-mac-cookie=yes set in user profile

You enable MAC Cookie under the hotspot server profile and then under user profiles you enable Add MAC Cookie.

Yeah, can be set to expire in a certain amount of time. It can also be configured to automatically allow certain devices to connect without authentication I think. Haven't done this in a while.
