Hi Guys

I'm currently using the old WUG Kits for a point to point connection.
RB112 with Atheros 2.4 GHz mPCI, antenna, POE kit...

The little board unfortuntely cant handle lotsa data and the CPU seems to be limiting wireless transfer speeds.

I've decided to replace the board, enclosure and power supply and keep the existing mPCI card, POE Kit, antenna and pigtails. This should be fine, right?

Which board should I go with?

RB433UAH - CPU (Atheros AR7161 680MHz) but 100 meg lan
RB600A - CPU (MPC8343E 266/400MHz network CPU) but 1000 lan

Comparison

I figure the 1000 lan will help much later on when moving to 5GHz wireless N but will the CPU limit me?

100/1000 Mb LAN, doesn't matter when the CPU can only do about ~45-80Mbps.
Why not just buy the RB411 with the integrated 2.4ghz radio.
Or just a RB411.

Or just get a normal RB433 so that you can at least add 3 interfaces if the need arises in the future...

RB411 or the vanilla RB433 should do it fine.
For point to point links the RB433 & RB600 will only give you a little bit more speed, but they am monsters when it comes to routing and qos.

Are you perhaps running WDS on that point to point link? Have you upgraded the ROS past ver. 2.9?
