I bought the GMKTec K8 plus from Wootware (LINK), received it two weeks ago. I immediately installed Bazzite.
And man, does thing perform. Set it to 50watt (medium) and 8GB to the GPU. Definitely gives me better gameplay performance and visuals than my Rog Ally.

Played Ghost of Tsushima on high, Red Dead redemption 2 Ultra High, Spider-man 2 high. Didn't have to use FSR or framegen so far and it runs awesome. Just jaw dropping how much such a tiny box can kick out.

I only use it as a console, controller only. Steam games, Epic and GoG (via heroic). Only had to use a keyboard and mouse with initial setup 2 weeks ago.

Here is a link to ETA Prime, testing on Windows 11. :

Subbed. I love these small form factor PC's that pack a punch.

I saw a video on the Minisforum AI X1 Pro. This thing absolutely rips.

What are noise levels like on the GMKTec? They are running a sale on their website with some decent discounts but the Reddit posts about their storefront has me a bit worried about ordering direct.

I don't hear fan sound or noise at all. And this one has 2 fans, bottom and top.
I read on Reddit, people having shipping issues buying directly from them, so first make sure before going that route.

I guess worst comes to worst you can do a chargeback on your CC, but it might be worth paying a bit extra and going the Sunsky route.

Not in the exact same vein but I am waiting for a delivery from Bobshop of an HP EliteDesk 705 G5, with a Ryzen 3400G APU. I'm planning on using it for some lightweight gaming. The Vega 11 APU should be a step up from the Intel UHD in my Lenovo Tiny.

I've been watching them on Carbonite for a while now, the MFF, will still get one and use it for a plex and nextcloud server or Roblox and Sims gaming for one of my kids. They seem very capable machines with endles possiblities.

The GMKTec K8 Plus has given you an excellent usage experience. The tiny form factor of this device proves remarkable because its performance quality beats larger systems while using Bazzite software for maximizing graphics performance. Your GMKTec K8 Plus performs champion gaming titles including Ghost of Tsushima and Red Dead Redemption 2 and Spider-Man 2 effortlessly without using FSR or framegen software.

Thx for the link, this looks like it could be good for IRL streaming(without a cellphone).

Well I can vouch for both PS5 and Series X remote play via:

Pretty sure it will work well with Steam as well, haven't tried it but the little pc is more than capable of displaying 4K. Also haven't tried WiFi on it so can't comment on speed/strength

I saw someone selling a Deskmini X300 on Carbonite. Super tempted, but I have enough PC's floating around here.

If only Windows could get it's standby/sleep act together. I had a media PC once that was hooked up to my TV and most nights I woke up to a blinding glare coming from the lounge as the PC had decided to wake itself up for whatever reason.
