My wife's S3 needs to go for repairs either today and tomorrow. Its a bit of a problem as she applied for a few positions last week so naturally she can't be without a phone. We have an old Nokia at home which uses a mini sim.

Can we temporarily have a sim swap done and when she gets the S3 back ask them to reactivate the micro sim?

Won't it be easier to find an adapter in the interim. Sim swap requires all that pain in the butt paperwork yes you can do it if you don't mind the queues and what not.

Thats complicating things - you can do it but easier just go to almost any china mall and get a converter

Or 2 sims for the same number, dual sim?
I forget what it's called

OP, remember when taken your wife's S3 in for repairs make sure you backup all contact information pictures etc cos once you take it for repairs they normally update the firmware on the phone or do a clean wipe of the handset.

Once you do the sim swop your wife should be aware that all her contacts will be lost and I don't know what the procedure is to do another sim swop alternatively keep the housing(Normal Size Sim card detach micro sim) and once your wife gets her phone back then just use the housing and place the micro sim the same way u found it and gently place it in the phone. Works for me.

Just go and buy a sim sonke staterpack and press out the micro sim and pressyour sim into it and use that. 99c solution that works great. MOST staterpacks come with the micro mini sim in one now.
