Hi all,

I am looking for a connector or a convertor or some or other thingamabob that will allow me to use my normal USB storage in a mini-USB port.

Like such:

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can find one?

Google on SA pages for mini-usb to usb converter. I'm sure there are lots of online retailers who will stock this. Otherwise state where in the country you are and someone can recommend a store.

Better specify what device it is, as there are two types of devices. Host (like PC) and peripheral devices like USB sticks. Even you manage to physically plug two peripheral devices, it won't work.

I want to be able to use my normal USB 3.0 storage into my Dell PE R620 server's front panel to be able to access it, instead of having to plug it into the rear ports the whole time. Dell, in their infinite F^&^&%^ wisdom decided we don;t need "normal" USB ports in front.

I'll try and Google something, but thus far not too much luck.

Thanks though.

OK. Short extension cables can used as well, but what I saw it was reverse: PC normal type A plug to mini target. You need opposite.

If you are near to Communica you could also give them a call. They seem to stock a gender changer and several other types of USB sockets ...

Some other types on DX (first one looks nearly identical to the one you posted)

There is also some discussion about which adapters support OTG function if this is a requirement.

I recently bought two of the swivel types (AM to AF) and they seem fine.

I bought one off BoB which was very well made. I only found out how well made it was when I wanted to turn it into an OTG adaptor. The wires on both ends were encased in resin, making the conversion impossible.

I'll post the link when I get onto a PC
