Mini Wireless USB Adapter for smart tv

Pretty much a samsung wifi adapter or nothing when it comes to wifi
Yep, I've experimented with trying to use non Samsung devices (e.g. webcam) in my 2 Smart TVs and they are ignored. It seems the TV's firmware only has drivers for Samsung USB hardware and thus will ignore any devices without their specific USB device IDs.

You should be able to use an ethernet based wireless adapter aka wireless ethernet bridge or a gaming adapter. Some routers might offer this feature. You could send a PM to kernel to see if any of the TP-Link devices may be suitable and also look on Google.

TP-Link have smaller, cheaper models than this which might also be suitable ...

I used to use a TP-Link WA901ND AP in Client Mode with my bedroom 46D6000. In general it worked well be every now then the TV could not get connectivity (a reboot of the 901 would solve).

Managed to find the Samsung USB adapter (WIS12ABGNX) for cheap, so replaced the 901. Now works consistently, I assume since it re-initialises with the TV instead of staying on all the time. So in my experience more trouble free.

I priced the Samsung adaptor a couple of days ago R1k on the dot

Rather get an Ethernet over power adapter.
It's cheaper and more reliable.

I used an Android mini-PC that has wifi to connect to the TV via its HDMI port. I can store movies on an SD card. Cost was about R800 from China

I have a new unused Samsung wifi adapter. Make me a good offer.

Got the MK 808b from China - JB 4.1 full HD connected to all media, Interwebs and Play Store on my TV via HDMI
Landing cost was under R500
