Can you rephrase this?
Yes, in many ways.

Here's a few...

1. Minimum-wage is a sneaky means of State-sanctioned job-reservation, for the comparatively higher-skilled.

2. Minimum Wage legislation forces employers to pay higher salaries, and leaves them free to not hire those who present the greatest discrepancy between what they deliver and what they are paid.

3. The real Minimum Wage is zero.

This guy's career is going nowhere.

Minimum Wage laws increase unemployment.

The crowds of hopefuls who sit around at traffic lights, waiting to be picked up for ad hoq manual labor jobs only increase with a rising MW.

MW was the tool of choice for those Apartheid-pioneers in the mining sector.

It meant if you had to pay higher salaries you would no longer consider the lower-skilled personel as competent enough for the lower-management jobs. It acts as a career ceiling for the relatively lower-skilled.

Without the MW, as an employer focused on your bottom-line, you would hire the relatively lower-skilled person, who would then pick up skills on-the-job, and begin to challenge for higher-skilled jobs.

That is like 3 potatoes per hour. Fortunately they have the ANC to hand out social grants which is more than enough to live on. The ANC takes very good care of the poor.

Still cheap as chips. Government needs to make it easier to employ by removing the destructive labour laws and more people will have jobs.

Who gets paid minimum wage? And why is it zero?

Unemployed people earn zero. It's quite simple really

But then you can’t call it a wage…so actually it makes no (zero) sense as a statement.

It’s just stupid word play that amounts to saying nothing while trying to sound clever.

Maybe it helps to put yourself in the shoes of an employer who is about to hire manual laborers to keep his workshop in working order.

Next thing you know, one of his fellow citizens slips a threatening letter under the door to say if you don't pay your new laborers 10% more, we will(legally) burn your workshop to the ground.

The employer is shocked but since he wants to continue serving his community via his workshop, he thinks to himself ok... I have to pay whoever I employ MW. But it's not illegal for me to hire someone over-qualified to sweep my workshop.... and I might be able to use them to do other high-skilled work.

Hence the lower-skilled laborer loses the work opportunity. They now go and sit at traffic lights, hoping for unofficial black-market work, even if it means being paid lower than MW. Why? Because less-than-MW is a) temporary, and b) higher than not being paid at al i.e. zero! And they do this by the millions.

Well-done, MW supporters!

That is a crapload of typing you did there.

I get where you're coming from but in this instance there are real world effects from raising the minimum wage.

The word play may make some think about these consequences in a different light.
