Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri explains why she is appealing the VANS ruling
Dear Ivy
Fsck off!
kthanxbai
Ivy is just the figurehead, this is ANC policy.
Getting rid of her wont make the slightest difference.
Its not the ANC's policy, its the governments policy. I'm sure the DA would be doing shady things if they were incharge as well to protect their income. Governments today operate like businesses and their customers are the citizens of the country....
The licensing is suspended until 2009 at least.I'm wondering what is going to happen with the issuing of licenses while the appeal is going on. As Craig Venter said they must issue the new licenses or they are in contempt of court.

.... did sa tell her to do this? I mean really if the whole bloody country is in favour of something.... then democratically we must be able to allowed to do it.
Cornerstone of democracy....
That is a democracy! And a lesson... it does not need the "whole bloody country" to be in favour but only the majority.
Unfortunately, the majority are the uneducated masses and are more concerned with getting basic services like running water and electricity, than the speed/cost of telecommunications and broadband.
Um we live in a country where the uneducated masses rely on costly cell phone technology for communication because Ivy and the state prop up a monopoly (Telscum) that are unable to provide this basic service.Unfortunately, the majority are the uneducated masses and are more concerned with getting basic services like running water and electricity, than the speed/cost of telecommunications and broadband.
But the introduction of new operators must be clearly regulated to ensure stability and growth for the sector and to protect the public interest.
