South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
Depends on the Wallet Service provider. Some of them will freeze wallets holding proceeds of a crime. It happened to them during BTCGI'm not sure wallets can in fact be seized. However if those coins are ever converted to fiat, or even just moved to a local exchange, it is very much a different matter.
Crowd 1 as well I see. Wow, they really believe in advertising.Well now, isn't this interesting?

There seems to be a "founding member" with that account name.

Well, how nice for him....puts in only R5k, got R40k of transfers from other members, and walked away with almost R210k.

Yip.Make no mistake:The blame game will be played.fingers will be pointed.worst of all:they will get away with it all .I was told what an unethical SOB i am for not allowing "things" to flow as per normal:any of my expose' hints a month ago here and there on Facebook , were met with "Be Nice ;don't be a D**s " replies .Scorned for seemingly edging on their downfall. Scammers playing victim. Somethng wrong with me because i can see through the trees.Judging by Cheri’s reaction to the whole Bitcoin Global fiasco, she’ll go into full frontal attack mode shortly. She’ll blame all of us for sabotaging MTI and costing thousands of investors their life savings....
Any service provider of any product at all (incl BTC) who does not freeze assets (upon lawful instruction) is making a very bold statement and is likely to feel some pain from international authorities.Depends on the Wallet Service provider. Hannah Grey on that list is Cheri's daughter. A child with a founders account. She must be an awesome networker at such a young age.Crowd 1 as well I see. Wow, they really believe in advertising.

Denial till the end for these shills. I feel nothing for them.
A good analogy. Can be widely expanded on and still be applicable.Yup, I've reached my limits too. I gave people the benefit of the doubt; I figured that they just didn't have enough info to make a better decision.
But nope, even when all the info is handed on a silver platter for them to see how someone is taking advantage of them, they still turn a blind eye.
I know this is going to be a really harsh analogy to use, but I see it like this.
Imagine someone has been caught fiddling with kids again and again, but kept getting away with it. And all the info about their involvement in fiddling with kids is right there in the open, plain as day for anyone to see.
What kind of reasonable person would allow such a character around their own kids? Would a person just turn a blind eye, or genuinely believe that this time it's different? The person has changed, they won't be fiddling with my child. Why would any reasonable and responsible person take that risk?
The more I pay attention to the psychology involved in all of this, the more I realise why I don't like people very much, lol.
A long time ago when I wanted to help a super drunk woman off the street with my normal gallantry, a colleague of mine at the time walking with me to the shop, took me by the arm and told me : "some people can't be helped". I hit me like a ton of bricks some time afterwards.Yup, I've reached my limits too. I gave people the benefit of the doubt; I figured that they just didn't have enough info to make a better decision.

once MTI explodes and we've had our laughs we can move onto that other scam
This post, too, needs more than just a like. All that you say absolutely syncs with how I am feeling and actions for which I am hoping will happen.A long time ago when I wanted to help a super drunk woman off the street with my normal gallantry, a colleague of mine at the time walking with me to the shop, took me by the arm and told me : "some people can't be helped". I hit me like a ton of bricks some time afterwards.
Some people simply cannot be helped, no matter how much people around them try.
I think we have now reached the point where we have helped those 'that can be helped' and those that 'can't be helped', won't.
I think the major frustration is that we are probably not reaching the bulk of the people that have been talked into this thing by family members and friends and the 'tannie from Potch'. I believe that only the Media, Public Protector and other State entities who's responsibility this is, may help a few more.
The FSCA could not have put it any clearer than it has already, but may want to put a new Caution out there, especially with the latest information which has come to light.
I suspect that the press will start to run with new articles early in this new week and hopefully drive our cause further and put the final nails in MTI's coffin.
My understanding is that only when converted to fiat OR repatriated from abroad that crypto can be seized. But again, as I understand it, "goodies (house, cars, damaged boats) bought with crypto can be seized. Ami I correct?I'm not sure wallets can in fact be seized. However if those coins are ever converted to fiat, or even just moved to a local exchange, it is very much a different matter.
I believe so. I really don't see any South African authorities being able to seize BTC wallets. My understanding is that only when converted to fiat OR repatriated from abroad that crypto can be seized. But again, as I understand it, "goodies (house, cars, damaged boats) bought with crypto can be seized. Ami I correct?
I don't see any BTC wallets being frozen. I could be wrong, but I don't believe it is even possible to freeze BTC wallets.Any service provider of any product at all (incl BTC) who does not freeze assets (upon lawful instruction) is making a very bold statement and is likely to feel some pain from international authorities.
I am not saying an SA instruction should be automatically accepted, but that international cooperation is likely and necessary with this sort of lunacy.
Who is this Gerhard (id=2463751) guy in the video below?
