Mirrorless Camera Recommendation

Purely because I like to read a ton of reviews from people that I follow and the two main brands when it came to mirrorless - Sony and Fuji.

I like the Fuji better, so went with it. I didn't give Olympus a second thought to be honest.

Pity about the Sony situation in SA. I would've bought one in a heartbeat.

I think this dude is a bit of a knob, but I watch this and am glad I never went with Sony.

I can understand his reasoning - but bad support is rancid all over the place. On the other hand I recently spoke to a photographer that used to be with Sony and he said their support was pretty good. Doesn't take away from the fact that their newer a7's are fantastic cameras though.

In SA?

Not just the A7 range - the a6000 also rated as one of the best on the market, and they have just released the a6300

Hasselblad have now come to the party with a medium format mirrorless camera. Looking at the specs on this it is smaller and lighter than the typical full-frame DSLR.

Hasselblad is making good on its promise to launch something big. Today it introduces the X1D, a medium-format mirrorless camera with a 50MP CMOS sensor. With dust and weather-sealing the X1D isn't afraid to step outside of the studio, and offers a 100-25600 ISO range and is capable of 1080/25p HD video. We suspect the X1D uses the same sensor in the Pentax 645Z, meaning 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion, despite claims of '16-bit color'.* Its hot shoe is compatible with Nikon Speedlights and the camera can sync with flashes at its maximum shutter speed: 1/2000 sec.

The Hasselblad is available for pre-order at B&H for USD 8995. The benchmark for good value in medium format cameras is the Pentax 645Z, which costs USD 6997 on the same site. It looks like the Hasselblad is coming out at a very competitive price.

Speculation in the DPReview article is it uses the same sensor.
