Mitchell's Plain ADSL

Also living in Portlands. Got a 10mb line. Stable as fuzz. Got full line speed on the Telkom capped account on all protocols except torrents.

Not sure if that is good or bad.
You are now comparing the ISP versus the line itself. Line stats would help.
That is also another issue Mr OP, your ISP also matters. You need both a great line and a good ISP.

For now I'm fully with Telkom, but if its not great, then I might look at Vox or Crystal Web and see how they perform

Fuzz=good. Didn't want to swear and get an infraction lol. Not by the pc now but both my upload and download snr is above 12. Syncing at close to 10mb due to attenuation.

Okay I'm assuming you on the other side? as I'm close to Spine road. Im in Riversdale Way, close to Rocklands high

Which if you getting that, then surely I should be able to get more than a 2mb line.
You should be able to get 4mb. My fiance lived in Westridge, close to Spine road, and she had a 4mb line with stats good enough to upgrade to 20mb. Pity the exchange in Eisleben (which you'll most likely connect to) only supports up to 4mb. This was a year ago so Telkom could've upgraded the exchange since then.

I'll check with the technicians tomorrow, and see what they have to say. If thats the case, then I'll see if I can get them to upgrade my line. Nice to meet another MP resident on here moondoggie

Are you going upcapped? and getting a phone line installed for ADSL?
If you are going with a capped package, it might be a better option to go with LTE.

Almost all of Mplain has great coverage now.

I am going uncapped and yes Adsl. I don't get LTE with MTN, and mobile data is not an option right now. I don't do torrent downloads or gaming.

I would never suggest MTN LTE :P
Telkom Mobile has LTE coverage in the area at a very good price.

I'm currently on the 20GB+20GB package at R399 and get 20mb down and 1-2mb up.
I use it only for browsing and gaming + updates so that last the month easily.

I do alot of other things, and emails for work are important. So I can't afford to run out of data at any point. That LTE deal is a pretty sweet one, but it won't work for me. I'll get by with a 2mb line for now
