The topic name is wrong I want AVI TO MKV sorry!

I need a program that can convert my 8Gb avi HQ movie to MKV. My Xbox doesnt stream AVI files very well for what reason I dont know. I want it in MKV so that I can make it MP4 with Gotsent all my MP4 movies stream correctly anyone know of a program?

I had the older version of this and there was no to MKV format and this have I will let you know if it work!
 
well, here is one-stop tool named Pavtube Video Converter u need to try. It can help u directly convert avi to mp4 in a fast speed. The output quality is fine. Its built-in codec can offer video files the proper codec automatically during conversion. Till now, it works for me great.
 
Neither mkv to avi nor avi to mkv is no problem if you got this video converter, I have use it for a long time, it works and have had no issue, however, some free tools like SUPER is also available while the output quality cannot be guaranteed
 
It's because the headers for the AVI are at the end of the file...

Can you not just go straight from AVI to MP4? Bear in mind that the MP4 will likely have different compatible codecs to the AVI on the XBox
