mms receive problem with vodacom

a friend has a problem receiving mms messages on his vodacom contract using a sony ericsson c702. Whenever someone sends him a mms, he gets a notification that he has a new mms, and that he needs to log into the vodacom4me website with a login name and password. We checked his mms settings on the phone and everything is in order. Also phoned the call centre and they confirmed all the services are active and even sent the settings to the phone again. The problem still persists. Any help and advice welcome.

Has your friend tried sending an MMS? Back in the day not all phones could receive mms's so you would get an sms with the url until you sent an mms and then your account would be activated as having a mms capable phone. Tell you friend to send an MMS to himself and see if he gets it. He should get an sms from vodacom saying his account has now been activated for mms if this was the problem.

Sounds like the phone doesn't support MMS. I used to have that problem with my old phone. It arrives as an SMS with a link and code.
 
gambit you are the man! We sent a mms from that phone to another phone and afterwards everything got sorted. Now he can receive mms. Thanks!
