I am having a problem with a new Vodacom sim card in a Iphone 12. The sim card is registered and is able to receive normal text messages from contacts and phone calls. When I try to add the phone number to my apple ID, my banking app and other apps, the verification code to verify the phone number doesn’t come through, even when I choose “receive code from phone call”. I have tried taking out the sim card and putting it in an android but it also doesn’t come through.
I have also tried resetting my network settings on both andriod and iphone I used. And yes I also tried restarting my phone. Pleaseeee help

Try using a temporary number service to receive verification codes.

The temporary number is a good idea. Sometimes networks block certain verification messages, and a temporary number like the ones from AnonymSMS could be a quick workaround.

It is often easily forgotten by OP that if your Vodacom PREPAID SIM has less than R10 loaded the following conditions apply.
NB: Upon activation, all incoming SMSs and incoming calls, except for incoming Vodacom network communication, will be disabled until the customer recharges their account with a minimum of R10 airtime or equivalent direct bundle purchase. This restriction applies to all new activating customers from the date of launch.

Not true for CellC.
Buy a R1 (98c) sim and you can receive SMS/Notifications immediately.

You need to be able to receive international SMS, which is likely why this isn’t working.
