DA needs to sort its **** out.
Less liberal BS, more conservatism, and an actual plan.

I can see H.v.Zille at least pushing things forward. Shame about Mashaba, I thought he would have made a good opposition leader.
Zille claims to be more left than Mashaba not sure how that helps your more conservatism wish. Though in reality I think she's got a lot of conservatism in her given some of her latter day pronouncements.

The DA has never been conservative - why would it need to become this?

If you want conservative then vote for the CP of FF+

The DA has always been a Leftist Party, they are still going to be fairly leftist.

Did you see the latest by-elections results, it was absolutely shocking. They can only improve from here. Yes, it is going to take a while for the DA to recover, but at least this is a beginning.
To me it looks like the DA has reversed to the Zille years just before Maimane, Zille back then was dancing to Vulindlela with Lindiwe and Mmusi by his side, there was a lot of promise and Zuma kept on pushing voters towards the DA, the general mood was positive.

Now Zille is back, I doubt she still has time for Vulindlela, Lindiwe is gone, Mmusi is gone, Zuma is in Nkandla. It is starting from scratch, trying to woo the same kind of voters they did back then, or is it different voters this time?

I have said it before and I will repeat it, it's easy to destroy and a totally different thing to rebuild the party to where it was before, ask Cope and the ANC.

I like Maimane. He's a lot like me. But I also recognise that in order lead properly you need someone who is... well honestly, a bit more of a dick... or maybe has a "firmer", more "aggressive" personality. Maimane would do well in a supporting role, but not as the leader of a political organisation.

In regards to where the DA goes from here... well, most of their high profile brown people have left. They may have their principles such as scrapping of BBEEE in favour of non-racial policies that are aligned purely with economic status, but sadly most people are kak stupid and will see it as racism.

There remains a huge political void in this country.
South Africans are a very conservative nation, across all racial lines. Yet when it comes to mainstream parties they only can choose from varying shades of liberalism to vote for.

The first thing they will have to do is to stop sending mixed messages . Voters get confused if they say they want a non-racial South Africa but at the same time support racial policies. There are enough moderate and sensible South Africans who does not fall for identity politics.

Many former DA voters on N&CA have vowed to never vote for the DA again, claiming to have found a home with VF+. How is the recovery going to happen if former voters hold this view?

I did not see those posts, I did however see many posters saying they will return if the DA stop their identity politics.

I would say it was a reluctant switch. The VF+'s focus on cultural and language issues for Afrikaaners doesn't really sit well for quite a few people. Now there isn't anything wrong with it, but it isn't going to unify the country. Which is what most people want.

Bad premise.
Redistribution is one of the main reasons why there isn't any growth in this country.
