DSTV is so damn expensive, and they only have one decent channel. I mean, sure there is the Discovery and History channels etc, but they are generally plagued with repeats. Mnet has all the latest series and programs that I want to watch, so I have to now go and get the whole of DSTV just to watch one channel! Yes you can buy just Mnet but then it's like R250.00 or something!

TV in SA kinda sucks.

No TV for me anymore :D

<innocent look> :D
TV sucks or SA's tv sucks?

Also consider what whatever you might possibly be watching on your pc usually makes it to the small screen in SA eventually, is it really fair to say tv sucks even here in SA.

I meant that TV is overrated, rather prefer to go watch movies at a cinema when it's released than wait for it to appear on TV :)

Series are a different matter altogether, though...

haha, reminds me of my myspace days, i was friends with all these hipsters, weirdos and the odd hot emo chick[with 2315313135 friends and annoying bulletins]. Anyway, in their favourite TV box theyd write:
I hate TV/TV is so commercial/conformist/etc, but my favourite shows are House, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives...

Their service sure has decreased...they fricken show repeats of the previous days episodes at 5! And then again on Sunday

And theyve gotten rid of the presenters (dont care much) but it shows theyre cost saving...no new shows at 5

I even miss those nature docs on sundays...something mellow to watch while recovering from the weekend

I think that is largely due to them being forced to shut down opentime - there's no one for them to impress any longer and retaining customers has never really been a concern for them.

I think if you pick up on the repeats, you are watching too much TV tbh. The repeats are supposed to enable everyone to watch all the content never mind their time/life/work structure.

If you only want MNET then, no one is stopping you - get it then...

MNET ain't the only "good" channel on DSTV by the way ;)

MeNeZ point that the same show is repeated in prime time does however highlight a certain lack in creative scheduling.
