Thanks v3g. Have had my frustrations with new updates on this... Actually went back a version at the time as the "older" Huawei dashboard is simpler for my use. And it stores usage on the modem - so I can move it to my laptop without loosing my usage.
BTW - provisioned simm on vodacom4me (am with VSP) for 3.6Mbps.... No notable increase, must be backhaul.
Signal sometimes at 1 bar - mostly 2-3 though. Should I consider a poynting coupler and antenna?? Will it improve stability and speed somewhat.

Mine is firmware V11.110.01.03.00 and the connect speed is 3.6Mbps. This is not the actual transfer speed of course.
Huawei website still has it as 3.6Mbps.
Notice a 14 Jan 2008 update on their site, is this it maybe??

i got about 2.8Mbps the other day dl drivers.so it's seems to work
