Not really connected to anything network related...but perhaps a quick tour of the warehouse? Or is that out of bounds due to security concerns? I think seeing what logistics is involved to supply the entire country out of one warehouse would be very interesting to see.

Would make sense to use the environment where we'll have the session.

In Jhb it most likely will be at the campus. Ponte sounds cool but we probably will have to sell OC's kidneys not to be kidnapped by the 'residents' ;)

At the campus there's lots of stuff to show, including the DC. Actually, we can stick OC in a Faraday cage and see if we can get him to glow, Southpark style. :)

In Cape Town, I'm not sure. You guys have never made it pass the wine cellar at my place in any case......

Man the DC and our very own version of Human Torch would've been epic!!

Never seen the cellar - was I that wasted? :erm: :p

Tsek! "Flaming Queen" is a figure of speech....not to be tested on live homosexuals dammit! It says so on the Disclaimer of the box that I came in...right above the "Made in Taiwan" stamp!

Box or closet? :p
Take one for the team Ockie!
This has viral youtube potential demmit!

Oh come now you bloody womaninz! I will be there....we can sit together and giggle when Jannie says "It is hard work to get our towers erect" lolz.

Make a plan...MAKE A PLAN! I am so excited for this.
Bwhahaha,

careful! I might feel your cheek!

:p

Jannie has a sauna??? When is the next mybb event in Cape Town?????

:-)

Something brewing for the end of May.
My party juices have been brewing for the last month or so - more to follow in time.
Sauna not included... dunno, who knows :p :D

not sure if the guys will be interested....but perhaps future plans for ADSL....specially with the LLU deadline coming up in November (stop laughing guys...we can hope) :-)

That's a totally different kettle of fish.

But it would be interesting to hear if mobile operators are expecting to see if LLU is something that they are relying on.
Or will they continue expanding their national backbone?
Or will their be synergies between LLU and the current national and metro networks being laid in the ground?

Such an opportunity would be invaluable to me as it will give me an insight into network expectations and user expectations of software like mAcme - a chance to even get buy-in and cooperation from networks. Count me in.

Some things I've been thinking about
1) Some RF 101: LoS, Cell Breathing, How coverage maps are generated, what causes deadspots, signal drops etc. Where antenna's help or not.
2) Backhaul: How much capacity for each tower, types of backhaul (pros & cons of each).
3) Spectrum: What it actually means when you are allocated 15Mhz worth of spectrum in the 2100Mhz frequency. How do you chop that up, what is the ratio of download to upload. What are the implications of voice calls and data all running on 3G (if any).
4) For ginggs: How does the tower numbering and sector numbering work.

I'll add more as I think of them. Obviously some can be answered with a bit of googling, but I've added them here to get people thinking.
