Mobile speed showdown: Vodacom vs MTN vs Cell C vs Telkom

Not even one network over 20mbps yet. Sigh...

Vodacom is the fastest and CellC is the slowest. This was expected.
 
Telkom's Fixed LTE only 10.95 Mbps, and slower than Voda/MTN Regular 3G???
According to marketing, LTE should be the fastest.

Many tests would have been performed using Vodacom and MTN's LTE networks.
 
That Telkom fixed LTE looks rather crappy considering that theirs is supposed to be a LTE Advanced true 4G network, with a lot less customers on it than Vodacom or MTN, its fixed.

I've yet to get above 9mbps on vodacom 3g.

My telkom LTE gets between 15-30mbps local and 10-15mbps international.

Bwahahahahahahahaha! I have always maintained that they are just rubbish, my experience has proven that too many times.

Those results are pretty much my experiences as well, sure, I don't get close to those speeds but they are spot on.

I remember how close MTN and Vodacom are when I switch between them, almost impossible to tell them apart. I actually prefer Vodacom, though.
 
That gap between Vodacom and Cell C!! My word.... and Cell C was talking of how they were "the best, if not better" a week or two ago :D

Over the last 30 days, 10,393 valid speed tests were recorded, which showed that Vodacom’s average Internet access speed was 15.66Mbps.

Would it not have been better if a fixed number of speed tests were taken for each mobile network? The 10,393 makes me think it was for all mobile networks (the percentage of each mobile network may not be even).
 
It should be changed to:
Within this area of cape town,
within this area of johannesburg, etc.
 
The average for Telkom Mobile looks pretty accurate. Just completed a test and it is very close to the figure in the article.

These are averages. The real world experience of a single person is irrelevant. It has little bearing on these stats.
 
Why don't they do a survey that shows how centralised their fabulous coverage actually is? I pay the same for my 3g data as anyone living in a town or city but rarely, extremely rarely, ever get 3g coverage!! Sometimes I am relegated to edge!! Thanks for nothing, Vodacom! MTN and Telkom have zero coverage where we live!
 
My Telkom Mobile LTE rocks. Solid performance and my test results are above what that table says. My adsl line constantly reminds me how reliable & good my TM LTE is
