Mobile television has yet to catch on

Its easy to understand why, most people like thier cellphone to be below a certain size, and under that certain size the screen real estate is just too small, people also need to stand still to look at the screen, you cant watch it while walking because that is pretty dangerous.
 
personally i have absolutely no desire to watch anything on a mobile phone........too old i guess
 
well quite honestly the so called mobile tv via 3G sucks. wait till that proper mobile TV is launched then people will start using it. i must say also though i am surprised with how few people uses the video calling. its a brilliant feature

No, it will be like my skype with my webcam, where I have to keep the little blocking screen down since I havent groomed myself yet... :o
 
i have a N70. video calling is great, awesome way to call people, and it uses my vodacom free minutes.

Whille mobile tv.. when voda was having the free month special i tried it out, found the content pretty boring and while watching i would either be going to sleep or bored out of my mid during the day.

It works, and depending on your coverage is the quality
 
I can see mobile tv catching on with kids and people who commute via public transportation but otherwise whats the point?
 
TV via 3G is a joke because the cell networks will screw you over on data costs. DVB-H is a different issue. Koos Bekker (Naspers CEO) was on 702 this morning and he intimated that there would probably be a few free to air channels and the stuff like sport you would pay for.
I have one of the trial handset and I would have paid for the world cup coverage.

thats exactly what i thought would be the case. you can view crap channels for free, or "included in subscription" like BBC and similar things. but supersport or channels that has specific things on you must pay for. but like you say you would pay to watch the soccer, or the rugby, or even your favourite soapy or whatever it is that interest you. as long as its reasonable.
 
I'm not interested in watching telly on a small screen... might be too old.

I use my cell for the odd game or two, just to pass the time...

At the ripoff prices at the moment, that market cannot afford it.
