So I went to Cell C store now. Stood in a very long line to speak to someone. Almost like trying to get through to them over the phone! When I finally got to someone, they said they would have to send my Modem in for repair (they had no loan models because they loaned them al out) and it will take 21 days. 21 days!?! Thats almost a full month where I will pay for a service which I won't get. Mind you, I am hardly getting a service now as it is...

that's sounds very crappy - did they test your modem? can't imagine that Cell C don't have loan or exchange modems - also doubt if they even repair these modems.... 21days! WTF!?

and that's with a modem that is still under warranty....

I need to send my black modem in for repairs I will actually see how long this process takes and thank goodness its still under warranty/guarantee - i just hope they replace the unit as OBF. Since day 1 the modem connects to CELL C network for about 5minutes and the modem feels like it will burn my hands :) Lucky for me I have 3 USB modems available ;)

I will see how long it takes them to repair the modem

I honestly doubt if they repair - I think they test and replace if needed - that's why I can't understand the long time it takes, except of course, if for some primitive reason they want to rob you of your data....

They should just do an OBF automatically I am sure the hardware they use on the sticks are less than $15 to do if not mistaken --> I would suggest to contact lars repairs can take anything between 21-42days unfortunately ---->>> I will actually check the time frame to see how long the job gets done - I don't want to spend money calling everyday or travelling to the CELL C store.

Nobody repairs those things. You throw it away and get another. If it's under guarantee you should get another one free.
