Modem tip :)

I live in weltevreden park. im not sure .. when i get my modem *hopefully this week* then i will do some more testing to see if it works [:p] . Is there absolutely no other way in which you can change to a different base station ?

not really, you have to move the modem around alot, proasm, how about getting the inactive towers to bounce your signal to another active tower instead? like if a cell tower is down, your cellphone connects to a different tower instead of just THAT one?
 
Heres a good idea,why dont u guys setup a large scalextric around your garden.Attatch your very large tea tray to a look alike F1 Williams BMW (with your modem) using very long cables,(better just wireless network it)Then push your speed control so car goes around the track till you find the stongest signal.
Then leave it there till youre finished,then drive your car back in(just make sure u made an offramp into the lounge)
If that doesnt work then try a Ferrari[:)]
 
Base Station 82 is the Randburg tower btw, funny, I have los with Randburg, Base Station 12 (probably North Cliff or Floracliffe) gives me the best signal but not yet active....30% signal to you unworthy people...

Sometimes get the "remote computer needed to be restarted for the outsourcing of electricity to take effect" error like all of you...

but I can change my password.... changed it every night since friday, boy it's fast [:D] 512k rules!

I'm in Weltevreden Park, with partial coverage, and have no problems at all (admittedly, from upstairs).
 
you know that hill where old mutual is? where that big hyperama sign is? I live ON that hill, so all of you tremble before my l33t signal...
 
I'm 265 meters as the crow flies from Sentech Durbs. Unfortunately, I'm also downwards at an angle of probably about 60 degrees below them :(

So I guess I'm on the next tower along, for Sunningdale...
 
Or the one at Saratoga - near La Lucia Mall, which will be switched on soon. [;)]

Friends mom phoned Sentech the other day and they planning to put up a tower at Weltevreden Park primary school, thats like 100m from me .. [:)]. I hope they do .. be elite [:p]
