Perhaps people in poorer communities give when they got and hope that when the inevitable hard times comes knocking on their doors those that they gave to will reciprocate.

But is this more a characteristic of white people? I must say, in my experience of certain other ethnic groups (Indian and black people), I do find that they are more 'community minded' and 'family minded' when it comes to money and the appropriation thereof. In other words, there is more of a sense of 'let's help each other' with these groups, whereas (again in my own experience) with white people, there is more of a 'each one for himself' attitude.
Your thoughts on it?
Its true, you whites are a stingy lot! No wonder you have all the money.![]()
As for the confusion regarding your ethnicity, I think people read that Mr Blu is Indian (IIRC), and they just assumed you are too.
Ahh, so maybe you can explain to us the other side of the coin, so to speak.
From your perspective ..........
She's always raving about Currie, property in India, she can't wait to go to India, and how she finds PTA too Afrikaans....and..and.
I also thought she was Indian. I guess Mr Blu did a good job.
As you said in your OP, mine is the "lets help each other out" attitude. I look at it as an investment of sorts, they now owe me a favour, but I usually get my money back, albeit later than agreed.![]()
I thought you were Indian somehow.Dunno where I got that impression.
I am very innocent when it comes to drugs, would not even know where/how to get the stuff, let alone get indebted because of it.
So may I ask you some other questions?
Sure...
Why would someone e.g. drive a very nice car and not be willing to give it up, yet not be able to afford some more basic necessities, like the rent or chipping in for a meal in a restaurant? We were approached numerous times by 2 of our associates for money to cover the basic living expenses. One drives a Jaguar and the other a Merc SLK.
Surely there comes a point where you realise ' I cannot afford this ' ?
Aha, that explains the curry recipes and the industrial sized Basmati rice purchases.I love it when people talk about me as if I am not here
The irony is, mr Blu is the most un-Indian person you will ever meet. He doesn't know what Diwali is about, he only wears traditional clothing under threat and he speaks better Afrikaans than Hindi.
