Only going to be using it for watching movies, series, mkv's, H.264 etc.
AC Ryan Play On HD being hooked up to it and 5.1 sound.

Preferrably 22" and up (jackpot would be a P2770H) but the new price tag is out of my range.

What do you all think of the following one from incredible corruption?
ACER P244W 24" LCD for R1399.95.

Link

Had to PMSL for a review I found at wired.com, link.

Now, something tells me that they may not even have it in stock.
But for a 24", that's dirt cheap if I could get my hands on it.

But what is your take on the Acer Monitors?
I've never dealt with them before.
Miss my 2494HS now :p

It has HDMI though, which I'd likely use.

Any other suggestions or deals you may know of? New or 2nd hand.

Budget close to R2k, preferably less :p

Their sister company has the LG 23" for R1299.
There are 2 threads here (hardware bargains and I think one started by mr feesh) where we have been exchanging views in monitirs - will look for links for you!

Esquire has some specials as well - Monday iirc.

Morning moggie :D

Thanks will hunt around for those threads too :)
I was going to get the 22" LED from Esquire, but there's no tilt or swivel on those monitors, so that's kinda putting me off.
I'm sitting at the office now, waiting for 9am to come around to actually go to the CPT branch to pick up the ACRyan Player.
As far as the monitor goes, I'm worried that coming down from a 24" to 22" is going to irk me :p

IF you were in Knysna you could buy a Samsung Syncmaster FullHD 2350 with 2ms response for R1899 from me.

that acer 24" only doesn't have an "HDMI" input under specs on the incredible website, only an analogue. My friend is getting the Samsung b2330h 23" for 1699 from PC zone, or 1799 @ incredible connection, it defiantly has an HDMI input.

Schweet thanks will take it into consideration.

What do you all think of the LG E2350V-PN 23" LED Monitor Wide Full HD 1920x1080?

Going for R2220.72 at LandmarkPC

It's a really good price and reviews online are good.
Just never been an LG fan and never owned any LG products, so hesitant on brand name :wtf: :D

Anyone know what the guarantee is on LG Monitors?

Also then considering that I'm now in the R2.2k bracket, I'm also looking at the Samsung P2450H, which is similarly priced.
But thinking that I'd sacrifice the inch and grab the LED monitor for the enhanced display.

Still not finding a second hand P2770H though :( :)

Does LED really make that much of a difference?

I just read Anandtech's review of the Asus VG236H 120Hz display (3D capable), and he's just raving about how amazing 120Hz refresh rate is compared to 60Hz, the 3D capability sounds awesome too. If possible try get one of those.

Otherwise save your cash and get a regular 23-24" for like R1800 or less, just plain vanilla with no smarties on top.
