More ADSL ISP price cuts

speaking of caps, did anyone notice something interesting with the uncapped accounts on Monday? I was getting full line speed at 3pm :) over 350kbps downloads. wonder what happened.

wtf...
If its not the cheapest getting cheaper its not a frieken ADSL price cut... its just another company charging a bit less on something already over priced

True , the headline should read "Another company charges less on over priced ADSL". This is not a price cut. Anything not remotely near R29/GB is not a price cut. How can I get excited about R49/GB when I am now paying R87 for 3GB ?? Just a waste of reading space this one.

Is this not like cricket, you know, when a edge goes to the area where slip fielder would be, the the captain moves somebody there and the all wise commentator says "Well it's to late now, the horse has already bolted"
Is this reduction then enough compared to what already has happened and what seems still to be coming from other better known competitors? Shouldn't it have been more aggressive, even if only over a short term, in order to really win customers over their ISP?

Haha the old pricing was R85/GB. That was high enough!

A R16 price cut is not revolutionary, it's necessary. And even after that, R69 is still too high.

It's like selling a pack of smokes for R50, dropping it to R35 (which is still higher than the competition) and then announcing that it's a massive cut. WTF?

Rather pay per usage than the actual time spent online.

Wish 10gb can become the standard package :( at the same price for the 1gb we are paying now

Just another crappy reseller reselling bandwidth. When are we going to get some more real ISPs in this country? You know, like ISPs who actually own their own network?

I'm tired of every man and his dog setting up an "ISP" and just reselling bandwidth from SAIX and IS.

Why the fark are people still complaining when a company drops their prices?

so you don't have to use them, use Afrihost... but seriously... quit your whining when somebody does something good.

You bunch of b1tchers are worse than granny when she can't find her false teeth.

We should be applauding every company that lowers prices. Every bit of downward pressure helps.

What sort of pressure will it exert when it still costs close to 50% more than the standard price?

Anyway I don't think that people are moaning about the price cut, but rather how it's been sensationalised.

Like we had in 2005? Back to the future!!

50% more than the standard price? Explain plz?

R49 * 1.41 = R69

So it's actually 41%. It's still nothing to rave about - that article contains a lot of very colourful adjectives.

I'm glad about the price cut. I'm not glad that it's being made to look like the next great thing.

Well, two things...

1) how do you know that R49 is the new industry standard. I remember that MyBB article that stated that it seems to be where the industry is headed, but I don't know that it actually has become the new standard yet.

2) Some of this new ISPs offerings are around R49 per gig, but yes, the standard entry level is R69. Not that great, but a d@mn sight better than their previous price.

anyways... I think any ISP should be rewarded for lowering prices no matter how much. All downward pressure forces every ISP to re-examine their current competitiveness.

Saw the headline and thought that these were actual line rental price cuts :( Not this bundle crap.

just who exactly is RSAWEB trying to fool? themselves? cause it sure as hell aint us... wat idiots.. those prices that they've come down to have already been around for a while.. their previous price @ R85/gig was pathetic...

Jeez its painful watching these prices slowly go down R1 at a time...

Wake me up when its finally R5 a gig.
