Some people (no names - they know who they are) will refuse point blank to give MS credit. Initially, I tried - as some of you are - to illustrate his value. Despite the statistics and achievements being mooted, these same folk still will not give MS credit. I suspect that they merely argue rugby for the sake of it and if they were locked in a room together, they would agree on how great RP is for five minutes. Thereafter, they would argue endlessly as to which of their two chins is the best resting place for Ruan's balls.

As a consequence, I have resorted to giving up and relegating RP in my mind to the position next to the bench - fetching naartjies.

Well I like Ruaan, but with Morne's performance there just do not seem to be any position for Ruaan. He is a safe and versatile bet on the bench for when needed.

Unfortunately I have a BIG questionmark on Ruaans positional play, Therefore the reason maybe he sucks at full back.

Ruaan is my man too but while Morne is getting the job done, he has to wear '10'.

You'll find that the commentators made mention of the brilliance of PdV in selecting horses for courses. It had been raining continually in Hamilton and it was clear that the prodigious boot of Frans would be preferred to the running skills of Ruan. And so it proved. Well it was not so wet in the first instance, Secondly IMHO it is now settled and proven that the relegation of Ruaan to the bench is correct and well deserved. 100% for DeVil on that one.

PS: the running skills/kick selection of Frans Steyn was also very obvious as well as the running performance of Morne Steyn.

dont fix whats not broken, although Im a Ruan fan, Morne did a good job on Saturday, but still feel in certain games Ruan has the edge, PDV didnt say for nothing that Ruan is "the Tiger Woods" of rugby.

OMFS seriously the morne pienaar thing is settled, did you not see the amount of points he has scored in only 6 games?

We won 5 out 6 games with him playing in the tri nations, i think this debate is over and unless morne is injured pienaar is out the picture.

It enhances the fact that Ruan shouldn't play in the rain or on a wet pitch?

Yeah I gues Ruan will become the new fullback. I still think he is a great bet on he bench. He caould aslo cover at scrum half, so we can get rid of Ricky Januarie ( he had his chance to get back to from) and open up another spot on the bench.

Did you actually watch the game on Saturday?

Mornè Steyn played against arguably the best fly-half in Rugby today (Dan Carter) And Mornè Steyn won that battle hands down. SA has a new PERM fly-half (Mornè Steyn) and believe it or not. No one gives 2 parts of a dry turd what you think of Ruan Pienaar.

The writing has been on the wall for ages already, instead of looking at the Ruan Pienaar posters on your bedroom wall, maybe start looking at what 90% of Rugby supporters have been seeing for months already ;)
 
Actually 99.9% of all Sa fans now see what many have been seeing, lance is the 0.01% that cannot :D

Maybe he does not know the intricacies of rugby?
 
Steyn tackled (one of the few things I thought he was doing poorly this season), he broke the line (more than once), he spread the ball well and he kicked very very well both tactically and for goal.

Sorry Lance but either your blind or just plain stupid. He is growing weekly in his role as springbok nr 10.

Ya he did this very well, it was the problems I had with Morne in the past but seems to me that his getting what the flyhalf position is all about.

Also Im not sure what the big hoo ha is all about? Ruan is a blody good goal kicker, the only reason people slated him was because his kicking was off during the Lions series, prior to that his been excellent, the injury forced him to the sidelines and PDV said if he wants to get back the number 10 he has to prove it. So far what ever his done in training hasnt given them enough proof OR they just think Morne is doing a good job so they kept it like that.
