Could someone give me advice on the most affordable 4MB uncapped ISP and what it would cost with all the line rentals etc. included? Of course, a reliable service is required.

Also, which is better, IS, SAIX etc, are there others that I do not know of and what would 4mb/10mb uncapped and unshaped cost?

Thank you in advance.

also considering the same, currently on MWEB 384k uncapped.

i'm thinking of staying with MWEB or going to WebAfrica or AfriHost.

Inputs?

OpenWeb Gold is my recommendation if you are in a household with more than 1 user or for someone with large download requirements. I was with MWeb for 8 months... its cheap but you will get around 100-200K line speed and hardly ever see anymore than that, which isnt bad but not recommended with a family of 4 internet hogs! ^.~ Gaming performance was sluggish with MWeb and WoW got 3K ping most of the time, Ive heard things have improved on the gaming side but not much with the dl speeds...

Telkom Line Rental = R124.20 (Am I right)?
ADSL 4MB Line Rental = R413.00
OpenWeb Gold 4MB Uncapped = R738.00
Total = R1275.20 p/m?

Also, TRL Technologies have 4MB Uncapped at R899, between the two, which would you recommend?

OpenWeb. MrBEEP (Keoma)--the owner, has an active presence on MyBB, as you can see from the OpenWeb Uncapped Feedback thread. Been with them for over a year now and no regrets. MrBEEP is incredibly helpful and hey, anyone that still replies to e-mails at 22:00 gets my vote.

OW gold> mweb>trl in that order of how much data you can pull.

I spoke to another ISP, they also have home uncapped at around R 800 however they say that p2p is shapped and that international news servers like newsdemon is considered p2p, can anyone here confirm if OpenWeb Gold is the same or are they getting full speeds, also, how many gigs are you getting in a month and for those that are doing HIGH downloads, have you had any letters of abuse?

I know that MWEB get sticky when you start hitting over 600gb.

Answer these question first....

Whats your usage? 10GB,20GB,30GB,50GB or uncapped
What can you afford? Total incl. analogue line+adsl rental+data R500 R800 or R1200
What do you intend using it for? i.e. torrents, gaming, streaming

If you answer the questions above we can give you the best options

I agree with Stevie G. The more detail the better. In my opinion, openweb gold is the best by far. And if you live near or in Jhb, even better.

On average I pulled 400gb/month and Keoma is on the ball when it comes to customer satisfaction. The simple comparison between the 2 uncapped accounts I have used is

Mweb R2.48/gb but with superior latency and browsing is almost always good.

Openweb gold - R1.85/gb with better speeds from 6pm to midnight on downloads and decent browsing. The upload is also better.

Openweb gold will cost including all line cost R1281/ month...

And with that you get the awesome customer service! But give us more info and I'm sure you'll get a better response :)

Well I study via correspondence and I want to do a lot of downloads for Linux distributions etc. so perhaps torrents but I do not mind if I don't get 500k on a torrent, moreover I would expect about 400k+ on regular HTTP and FTP downloads and for watching Youtube videos that could help with my studies (i.e "virtual classrooms"). It is therefore that I really need uncapped. Perhaps I will try the occasional game, but nothing more really than the old Counter Strike Source (since I'm not a big gamer).

Therefore I believe according to my own research and what you have stated OpenWeb Gold is the best option, 1281p/m should be affordable. Also, the company I am to work for are moving me to KEPMTON PARK (JHB?) as of tomorrow so I'm hoping that stolen lines and speed etc. should not be a problem?
