Most contentious IT issues

Notes they punt their own product(s) as well...

With the global recession, IT will be hard pressed to deliver cost-efficient solutions... this will be a most interesting ride...

Nothing new here.

The mark of a good consultant as Dilbert often tells us:)

I also read the list and thought it could mostly have been from any similar report over the last ten years (and the next 10).

But companies like Gartner do play an important role, they tell companies what they normally already intuitively know, but in such a way that it seems more palatable, logical and structured.

In South Africa the skill shortage makes it hard for IT companies to truly offer their custumers solutions or deliver on solutions offered. Cause our IT industry is riddled with lower end techies (MCSE qualified running around with maybe 1 year or two years experience) but lacking technician's with a passion for their work (scarce) and technician's with a broad range expertise. And all our uber technicians tend to go abroad where the money is obviously better and unfortunately our companies cant/dont offer competing salaries

I have a lot of IT experience (10+ years of coding in big financial institutions) and I can say a lot of the article is sssoooooooo true.

Except maybe for the point where they keep on punting their own product
