Clearly the features that require bandwidth usage is used the least. This could be directly linked to the exorbitant prices of mobile bandwidth. Maybe, just maybe one day when we stop having to sell our kidney's to pay for this bandwidth, users will start making use of these features......or maybe I am just dreaming.

What about GPS? This is the most sensible add-on feature ever added to a phone.
Especially if coupled with an FM transmitter so that the voice guidance can be played back over your car stereo. The FM transmitter on my Nokia N79 is one of the coolest features ever - better quality than an iTrip or a Belkin FM transmitter.

This study is not representative of the features that all South Africans use most often (as mentioned in the title of the article) - it is based on a survey of 16 to 18 yr olds.
If you had to survey people 10 years older, the results will probably be in reverse order (using mobiles for emails, web access, gps, etc).

My phone says on the box it can make phonecalls, but MTN says it lies!

What the hell is "Network Internet Portals" internet????

I use every inch that my phone has to offer, I think.
Use the camera, Chat, calendar, plenty of downloaded apps, WLAN for net when at home, and use nokia home media to stream music to phone and control main computer, FM transmitter, internet browsing, e mail via nokia's software, bluetooth, watch movies on it (at work), games, opera mini/8.5, GPS, and as a web cam.

P.s. forgot tell time

I think you have misread. It is a survey based on the full demographical profile of South Africa, from 16-80+ I believe.

These are the conclusive usage results for all age groups. Nonetheless it has been mentioned that we are undergoing a significant move towards data based features.

@ToxicWazte Once again, it's only a pleasure:)

Couldn't have said it better myself. +1

Right. Throw these results out.
There's no chance a phone has IM support (66%) but not browser support (60%)

Yep, and how exactly is MXit downloaded again...
EDIT: Sorry, I don't mean to sound the way I did :P

Does "please call me" qualify as a feature? It should be :D Bhwaahahahaha.

Quite interesting how in our little survey browser usage is so much higher than in the other one. Seems we have our priorities in order!
