Most popular cellular phones

I hate Samsung. I like Nokia alot but my last 2 phones have been Motorola -strange choice but they've served me well.

For all round quality / camera / voice / you can’t ignore SE
SE FTW

I used a Motorola one and hated it ever since. I've never used a Samsung and I do think I will ever. I like Nokia, although I seem to be stuck on Ericsson currently...

Article left a lot to be desired...would have liked some comparative figures.

I think you meant to say E90 and not N90:p
I doubt the MTN big boys use N90s

I can believe it....
Low end phones sell more than high end phones...

A bit surprised that Voda "released" such crappy phones as best sellers.

had samsung.ericson and motorola. i'll stick to nokia, gotten use to the applications on it.

AMEN BROTHA!! *does the African American Pastor jescticulations*
SE W900i still going strong!

Contract is coming to an end in June, but no time for upgrading.
Hopefully gonna get a real nice upgrade in the UK!! :D

I couldn't give a flying what cellphones people use, but I find it fascinating that each company seems to have attracted exactly the kind of market it positions itself to be in - MTN mostly business types, Cell C - lower end of the market with predominantly last gen, cheap handsets, and Vodacom a mix of both.

I love marketing.

What makes you say MTN does mainly "bussiness types?"

MTN holds the accounts of most big corporates in the country, this is a fact.

When you look at the phones as per this survey, you can also see that they are mosly high-end business oriented models (TYTN II, E90). It could be argued that the N95 isn't, but this is not exactly true - I use mine as a business device, with push email, and great PIM sync, simply cos I prefer a smaller form factor and type fast enough with T9, so no need for QWERTY.

They do?
Like which "big Corporates?"

This is not a survey, just a generalisation. Who you ask and how they know. It doesnt show how many N95 were sold for example.

This "survey" suggests that MTN sells more high end devices than Voda?
Proves nothing IMO.

Discovery, Old Mutual, Santam, off the top of my head.

Look at my post, I clearly said "seems" made a correlation with the marketing strategy. I didn't imply anything was "proven". I also didn't make any comments about the absolute quantities of handsents sold.

No need to get your panties in a bunch, mate. Take a deep breath and read again.

Standard bank? Anglo?

Would be interesting to see which of the 2 networks have more, and also if Cell C has any.
