Most Underrated Films

Happens a lot particularly with action, or action comedy genre. Stuff that was 6/10 on IMDB and I loved it. Relaxing fun that should not be taken too seriously. Depends on who you are.

Imo, John Carter. Loved everything about it and sad that the planned trilogy was canned.

Also Indiana Jones 4. Come on guys it was not THAT bad
Absolutely yes to John Carter, and also yes to Indy 4... and by yes to Indy 4 I mean yes, it was exactly that bad.

Ah yes the Matrix 2 & 3.
I enjoyed those two, that truck scene was great.
Apparently the bike scene was just as dangerous as it looked on film.

Overrated thread ==>

Fun with Dick and Jane (When you get retrenched)
Secret Life of Walter Mitty (When youre tired of your dead end job and just want to get out there) I love the scene of the little boat and big boat with the totally drunk helicopter pilot.
Under the Tuscan Sun (Yes its girly, but its great as sometimes life hits you with a sledgehammer and you have to do something different, and you dont always see the end, but what is meant to be will happen, and at the end of the day - or years - you discover that you achieved what you set out to do.

I do have to agree, I liked John Carter too. Watched it like a few times. Not bad. Great special effects, and the plot is well like the Prince of Persia style plot.
The Time Machine (the newer one was best)
and.....
The Italian Job (not the wahlberg one but the original. So funny. Practically the entire UK robbing the Italians) was totally great and the minis going over the stadium was great. After all the British also organised for England to play Italy, to cause the entire traffic jam.)

At this point it's not under-rated but on release there wasn't much noise over Dredd (2012). Great fun action movie if you haven't already seen it, and a near pitch-perfect Judge Dredd.

Shot in SA by the same production crew who did Shallow Grave and Slumdog MIllionaire.

The Fountain is an underrated Darren Aronofsky film IMO. Ex Machina was really good and you don't often hear about it, but the one that constantly slips under the radar is Gattaca. Spectacular film and no one seems to know it or rate it very highly.

EDIT: Lord of War!!! Got totally crap ratings but it was brilliant!

I also loved John Carter. Went in blind not knowing of the film.

I think the Spielberg Tintin movie was pretty underrated. It had amazing special effects for the time and the way they portrayed the characters was very faithful to the comics.
True it's awesome. Wonder if there will still be a second movie..
