Probably dead mobo with capable enough CPU.

I have a i7-4790 for example. If the mobo dies, do I spend R1500 for the above motherboard, or R1350 for a i3-9100f (similar speed cores at 4, but no hyperthreading) and R1180 for a motherboard and R1460 for 16GB DDR4 or even an added R1550 to the already mentioned cost for a i3-10100 (slightly faster cores at 4 and hyperthreading) with it's mobo and same RAM? Personally I'd go with just the mobo, since the PC is more than capable enough for what I do with it.
