Hi there,
I recently experienced a problem with devices unable to access the internet when connected to the handset via mobile hotspot. On the handset though the internet was accessible. I am using afrihost mobile via an MTN sim. After extensive investigation I found that there were multiple APNs configured in addition to the afrihost APN. There were 3 additional MTN APNs which were configured when logging in to the network. After deleting the 3 MTN APNs tethered devices are able to access the Internet.
It seems that the mobile hotspot was using the incorrect APN therefore a lack of internet access for tethered devices even though the internet was accessible on the handset itself.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem?
On the Moto G4 plus, can you explicitly specify the APN that the mobile hotspot should use when you have multiple APNs configured?
